Effects of PG species containing polyunsaturated fatty acids on keratinocyte proliferation.

<p>Near-confluent keratinocytes were treated for 24 hrs with the indicated concentrations of liposomes of PLPG (A), DLPG (B), PAPG (C) or DHPG (D), prepared via bath sonication of the different PG species in SFKM. [³H]Thymidine incorporation into DNA was then determined as above. Values represent the means ± SEM of 3 to 5 separate experiments performed in duplicate; *p<0.05, **p<0.01 versus the control value (0 µg/mL level served as control in each panel). [³H]Thymidine incorporation into DNA in the control was 45,300±4,900 cpm/well, 37,700±8,900 cpm/well, 66,000±13,000 cpm/well, and 55,300±8,900 cpm/well for panels A, B, C, and D respectively.
