Colonization of <i>C. jejuni</i> in the chick cecum.

<p>(<b>A</b>) Twenty-four hours after hatching, chicks were inoculated orally. LG2055 was administered orally to one group of <i>C. jejuni</i> 81–176-inoculated birds daily. PBS was administered to the other group of birds as a control. (<b>B</b>) Chicks were sacrificed at days 14 post-inoculation, and colonization with <i>C. jejuni</i> was quantified by counting CFU using MH agar plates. The bar indicates the median CFU for each group, which was determined using all birds within the group. The LG2055-administered group of birds exhibited significant suppression of <i>C. jejuni</i> colonization (***<i>p</i><0.001), as determined by the Mann-Whitney U test. “n” indicates the number of chicks in each group of 9 that were colonized with <i>C. jejuni</i> (limit of detection, 10³ CFU/g of cecal contents). (<b>C</b>) Immunohistochemical staining of chick cecal tissue at 14 days post-inoculation. Cecal sections were probed with anti-<i>Campylobacter</i> antiserum or stained with DAPI.
