The reaction between <i>i</i>Pr<sub>2</sub>PCl and Ph<sub>2</sub>P(BH<sub>3</sub>)CH<sub>2</sub>Li gives the mixed phosphine/phosphine-borane Ph<sub>2</sub>P(BH<sub>3</sub>)CH<sub>2</sub>P<i>i</i>Pr<sub>2</sub> (<b>1a</b>) in good yield. Thermolysis of <b>1a</b> leads to borane migration and the formation of Ph<sub>2</sub>PCH<sub>2</sub>P(BH<sub>3</sub>)<i>i</i>Pr<sub>2</sub> (<b>2a</b>) along with small amounts of Ph<sub>2</sub>P(BH<sub>3</sub>)CH<sub>2</sub>P(BH<sub>3</sub>)<i>i</i>Pr<sub>2</sub> (<b>3a</b>) and Ph<sub>2</sub>PCH<sub>2</sub>P<i>i</i>Pr<sub>2</sub> (<b>4a</b>).
