<p>The theoretical relationship between <i>r</i> and generation time (<i>G</i>) is provided by the equation <i>G</i> = ln<i>R₀</i>/<i>r</i>, where <i>R₀</i> (the net reproductive rate per generation) is assumed to be 5, which is roughly the median value of <i>R₀</i> for the <i>r</i> and either FishBase or reported generation times.
