<p>All cultures were grown at continuous white light (CWL), dark-treated for 48 h (D48) and subsequently exposed to 0.5, 6 and 24 h of equal PUR doses of white (WL), blue (BL), green (GL) and red (RL) light. Additional measurements after 48, 72 and 96 h were included for the RL treatment. Φ<sub>PSII_max</sub> was measured directly after a 3 min dark acclimation period and is a measure of the maximum efficiency of photosynthetic electron yield per mol photons absorbed in PSII. All values are presented with ±SD bars (n = 3).</p
