THE CONSUMER DEFENSE CODE CONTRIBUTION FOR THE DEFENSE AND THE PRESERVATION OF THE ENVIRONMENT

<p>In a scenario marked by local and global environmental crisis, the Environmental State of Rights erupts with a mission to protect and secure fundamental rights in all their dimensions. In this context, this article aims to make visible to the consumers’ right to information, by incorporating environmental principles relating to products and services, can contribute to the accomplishment of the mission of this new State, by means of conscious and sustainable consumption. The article draws a literature research and concludes that, in a legal outlook, the right to information is a fundamental instrument for the realization of the larger mission of the Environmental State of Rights, since if it is (re)read in the light of a consumerist approach of the environmental question, it can indeed contribute to the protection and preservation of the environment.
