Compared with the reactivity of <i>o</i>-Ph<sub>2</sub>P(C<sub>6</sub>H<sub>4</sub>–CH<sub>2</sub>)BH(N<sup><i>i</i></sup>Pr<sub>2</sub>) with [RuH<sub>2</sub>(η<sup>2</sup>-H<sub>2</sub>)<sub>2</sub>(PCy<sub>3</sub>)<sub>2</sub>], the behavior of the phosphinoborane Ph<sub>2</sub>P(CH<sub>2</sub>–C<sub>6</sub>H<sub>4</sub>)BH(N<sup><i>i</i></sup>Pr<sub>2</sub>) is radically different.
