BRAZIL AND THE INTER-AMERICAN SYSTEM OF HUMAN RIGHTS: FROM NOGUEIRA DE CARVALHO TO GUERRILHA DO ARAGUAIA

<p>The Inter-American System of Human Rights, created within the Organization of American States, was accomplished with the celebration of the American Convention on Human Rights in 1969. The signature of this Convention not only invigorated the system of protection of human rights, to assign more effectiveness to the Commission, but also created the Court. Five times Brazil was sued in the Court of Human Rights for neglect or violating such rights in its territory. It is proposed in this paper the analysis and the study of these demands and its influences in the promotion of human rights.
