TNF-α induces ICAM-1 expression and monocyte adhesion.

<p>(A) Human RPECs were incubated with TNF-α for the indicated time intervals. The protein expression of ICAM-1 was determined by Western blot. (B, C) Cells were incubated with TNF-α (15 ng/ml) for the indicated time intervals. The mRNA levels and promoter activity of ICAM-1 were determined by real-time PCR and promoter assay, respectively. (D) RPECs were pretreated with an ICAM-1 neutralizing antibody for 1 h, and then incubated with TNF-α for 6 h. The THP-1 cells adherence was measured.
