Subculture tests to assess the viability of drug-treated stationary phase <i>B. burgdorferi.</i>^a

<p>a. Seven day old <i>B. burgdorferi</i> culture (1×10⁷ spirochetes/ml) (500 μl) was treated with 10 μg/ml drugs alone or drug combinations for 7 days. Then, 50 μl of washed bacterial cells was subcultured in 1 ml fresh BSK-H medium for 7 days and 15 days.</p><p>b.
