<p>MDA generating from lipid peroxide was colorimetrically quantitated using TBA (see <a href="http://www.plosone.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.pone.0120619#sec002" target="_blank">Materials and Methods</a>). The cells in log-phase were diluted to OD<sub>660</sub> = 0.01 and cultured at 37°C with vigorous shaking: (A) LB medium with 1 mM H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub> for 2 h (left panel) and with 75 μM H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub> for 10.5 h (right panel), and (B) M9 medium containing 1 mM sulfate as a sole sulfur source for indicated time. The MDA equivalent values are represented after normalization by cell number as means±SD. * Significantly different from the value of WT at the same time point at p<0.05.</p
