<p>CFU/ml of O395 wild-type (WT) and mutant strains in LB pH 7.0 with 100 mM HEPES (Buff), or LB starting pH 9.3 unbuffered (pH 9.3) for 48 hours. The bars represent the mean of at least four independent experiments and the error bars indicate the standard deviation.
