<p>The Health Utilities Index includes two complementary systems of classification of multi-attribute health status in children. HUI Mark II measures health status as a function of seven attributes: sensation, ambulation, self-care, cognition, emotion, pain and fertility. The HUI Mark III assesses eight attributes: vision, hearing, speech, ambulation, dexterity, cognition, emotion and pain. Parental responses to questionnaire items are combined and ascribed a multi-attribute utility score between 0.00 and 1.00 (where 1.00 describes perfect health), calculated using standard formulas for the HUI Mark II and for the HUI Mark III.
