Trifluoromethyl Sulfoxides from Allylic Alcohols and Electrophilic SCF₃ Donor by [2,3]-Sigmatropic Rearrangement

An electrophilic trifluoromethylthiolation of allylic alcohols produces the corresponding allylic trifluoromethanesulfenates, which spontaneously rearrange into trifluoromethyl sulfoxides via a [2,3]-sigmatropic rearrangement.
