<p>The Clark’s nutcracker prebreeding body condition index did not differ significantly between breeding and nonbreeding years (A). However, the average body condition index for birds during the breeding season was significantly higher in the breeding versus nonbreeding year (B). Body condition index is the residuals of body mass regressed against tarsus, corrected for date. Clark’s nutcrackers were trapped during four prebreeding seasons (2009–2012), but only during two breeding seasons (2011–2012).</p
