Seven chlorogenic acids, 13 salicinoids and 19 flavonoids (y axis) were tested for association with genetic markers (x axis) spread across all 19 chromosomes of Populus (roman numbers at the top) following an information theoretic approach [50]. For each candidate locus, additive (▼) or dominant (▲) effects are documented. Symbol sizes represent PVE’s of each candidate locus (▲<15%, ▲15–30%, ▲>30%).
