Railway Station, Clermont Street, Emerald

The Emerald Railway Station in Clermont Street is a National Trust classified building. Made out of chamferboard, its features include a semi-circular roof to the central portico, iron lacework and cast-iron columns. Constructed c1900-c1901, its design is attributed to Henrik Hansen. Other surviving examples of Hansen’s work include the following railway stations:Archer Park, Rockhampton; Mount Morgan; Shorncliffe and South Brisbane.
