<div><p>Fever is a common response to inflammation and infection. The mechanism involves prostaglandin E2 (PGE2)-EP3 receptor signaling in the hypothalamus, which raises the set point of hypothalamic thermostat for body temperature, but the lipid metabolic pathway for pyretic PGE2 production remains unknown. To reveal the molecular basis of fever initiation, we examined lipopolysaccharides (LPS)-induced fever model in monoacylglycerol lipase (MGL)-deficient (<i>Mgll</i>−/−) mice, CB1 receptor-MGL compound-deficient (<i>Cnr1</i>−/−<i>Mgll</i>−/−) mice, cytosolic phospholipase A2α (cPLA2α)-deficient (<i>Pla2g4a</i>−/−) mice, and diacylglycerol l...
Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) is postulated to be a central mediator of fever. It is generally believed th...
The cytokine IL-6, which is released upon peripheral immune challenge, is critical for the febrile r...
Fever represents an elevation of body temperature, that exerts a protective effect against pathogens...
Cyclooxygenase inhibitors such as ibuprofen have been used for decades to control fever through redu...
Fever is a cardinal sign of inflammation and is evolutionary conserved. Fever is known to be benefic...
Fever occurs upon binding of prostaglandin E-2 (PGE(2)) to EP3 receptors in the median preoptic nucl...
We examined the signaling route for fever during localized inflammation in male and female mice, eli...
Fever is a common symptom of infectious and inflammatory disease. It is well-established that prosta...
Immune-induced prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) synthesis is critical for fever and other centrally elicited ...
Fever is a brain-regulated elevation of body temperature that occurs in response to infectious and n...
All phases of lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced fever are mediated by prostaglandin (PG) E2. It is kn...
Fever is known to be elicited by prostaglandin E2 acting on the brain, but its origin has remained d...
AbstractRecent advances have provided evidence that prostaglandin E2 mediates the generation of feve...
