<p>The results of a semantic comparison of gene annotations can be classed into eight macro-patterns according to similarity and particularity values. The first sign is a “+” if the similarity is greater than or equal to the similarity threshold <i>τ</i><sub><i>sim</i></sub>, or a “-” otherwise.
