Effects of alcohol consumption on loss of kidney function.

<p>In males, the small amount of alcohol consumed was more associated with loss of kidney function than the large amount of alcohol consumed. Score 0 = no alcohol consumed; score 1 (a small amount of alcohol consumed) = 20 to 140g of alcohol/week; score 2 (a large amount of alcohol consumed) = more than 140g of alcohol/week. Adjusted odds ratios are shown with 95% confidence intervals. The logistic regression models are adjusted for the baseline characteristics. *, <i>p</i><0.05.
