Microscopic studies demonstrating MTP on the surface of lipid droplets in 3T3-L1 cells.

<p>3T3 cells were differentiated and MTP was visualized using MTP antibody followed by 10 nm gold conjugated secondary antibody. MTP staining was positive and cell specific. The staining appeared to be on the surface of the droplets and not associated with membranous structures associated with the droplet. Staining was observed with rough ER membranes as noted by the arrow. Nuclei were negative for immunogold labeling as were controls stained with immunogold without primary antibody. Bar = 500 nm
