<p>Regions were defined as MAB = Mid-Atlantic Bight, SAB = South Atlantic Bight, GOM = Gulf of Mexico. Explanatory variables were grouped into six categories: Season = seasonal trends, Lunar = lunar trends or quarters, Autocorrelation = autoregressive process in days, Hydrodynamics = various sea level and tidal metrics, Wind = wind speed or direction, and Other includes various temperature, salinity and storm metrics.
