Differentiation of two <i>Colletotrichum lentis</i> races based on repeat variations of a 39 nt minisatellite in IGS.

(2004).</p><p>^# Used for production of additional single spore isolates.</p><p>SK = Saskatchewan, MB = Manitoba. <i>tef1α</i> = translation elongation factor 1α, <i>rpb2</i> = RNA polymerase II subunit B2, <i>acla</i> = ATP citrate lyase subunit A.</p><p>The IGS, ITS and three genes, <i>tef1α</i>, <i>rpb2</i> and <i>acla</i> were sequenced in isolates representative of the two races. A probe, 39F/R, amplified 7 and 9 of the 39 nt repeats in race Ct1 isolates, while race Ct0 isolates had from 2 to 12 repeats, but never 7 or 9. The number of the 39 nt repeat was determined by gel electrophoresis and verified by sequencing of DNA extracted from gel bands.
