Der Oszillator dient als einfacher Repräsentant eines Dämpfungsprinzips, wie es im Inneren von Strahltriebwerken zum Einsatz kommt, um durch Luftströmungen angeregten Schwingungen der Turbinenschaufeln entgegenzuwirken.
