<p>Ecology students at York University collected a sample of the plant population in the grasslands along Pond road on Wednesday, September 23rd at approximately 3:00-4:00 PM. The temperature was approximately 24 degress celcius with alot of sun revealing a dry environment. 25 replicates of 1 meter by 1 meter quadrants were randomly placed to manually count the total abundance of plants and the species richness and to estimate the total cover of vegetation and the total cover of grasses within each quadrant. Estimation of the total cover of grasses and vegetations were done assuming each quadrant represented 100% of the area. </p
