This study relates the gender relations in positions of Power - the position of the inheritresses in the succession process of family firms. The motivation for this study is originated by three factors: the high percentage of family enterprises in the world - more than 80%, the reduced number of inheritresses in command of these firms and the small survival degree of these firms from the second generation on. The selected firm for this research was the Leão Jr. S/A, a large family company, which had experienced several succession processes.
