Conception and evaluation of different heating systems for newborns pigs

The pork consumption worldwide has increased in last years, with this improving the production system has been increasingly required for any activity, resulting in changes in the cost matrix, which involves energy matrix. One of the very important factors in the production of piglets system is the thermal comfort of newborn pigs, requiring the additional heating these to optimize production. The heating current system uses incandescent lamps and, in some cases, heated floors with electrical resistances. Incandescent bulbs, because they have low energy efficiency are being replaced, and in the case of Brazil by law should be extinct by the year 2016. This study analyzed different types of heating systems, PA - with floor heating shelters with circulating hot water, where the primary water heating occurred for a hybrid system (solar panels, biogas, GLP gas and electricity); LC - incandescent lamps type SPOT 40 W with black metal plate on a side of the shelter; and L - incandescent lamps type SPOT 40 W without metal plate. Shelters heated with circulating water heated by floor (PA) had the highest average temperatures and the largest weight gain of piglets, providing better thermal comfort for the piglets and higher revenues from the sale of piglets.CAPESO consumo mundial da carne suína tem aumentado nos últimos anos, com isso o aprimoramento do sistema produtivo vem sendo cada vez mais exigido para qualquer atividade, implicando em alterações na matriz de custeio, o que envolve a matriz energética. Um dos fatores de grande importância no sistema produtivo de leitões é o conforto térmico dos suínos recém-nascidos, sendo necessário o aquecimento suplementar destes para otimizar a produção. O sistema atual de aquecimento utiliza lâmpadas incandescentes e, em alguns casos, pisos aquecidos com resistências elétricas. As lâmpadas incandescentes, por apresentarem baixa eficiência energética estão sendo substituídas, e no caso do Brasil por força de lei, deverão ser extintas até o ano de 2016. O presente trabalho analisou diferentes tipos de aquecimentos: PA - com aquecimento do piso dos escamoteadores com água quente circulante, onde o aquecimento primário da água ocorreu por um sistema híbrido (painel solar, biogás, gás GLP e energia elétrica); LC - com lâmpadas incandescentes tipo SPOT 40 W com chapa metálica preta no abrigo; e L - com lâmpadas incandescentes tipo SPOT 40 W sem chapa metálica. Os escamoteadores aquecidos com piso aquecido por água circulante (PA) apresentaram as maiores temperaturas médias e também o maior ganho de peso dos leitões, proporcionando um melhor conforto térmico para os leitões e um maior faturamento com a comercialização dos leitões
