The use of Facebook in the school context: the genres meme and fotopoema for the textual production in english language

Acompanha: O uso do Facebook no contexto escolar: os gêneros meme e fotopoema para a produção textual em língua inglesaThe new technologies are being made available in the school context with a variety of resources and means of interaction, which involve both the students and the teachers. However, these technological innovations are doing some schools to create certain resistance to digital media, for this is a traditionally conservative environment. Thus, this research aims to arouse the interest of students to foreign language teaching through the use of ICT; to create a Facebook page, to practice the Writing skills, in relation to the production of the digital genres meme and photopoem; to deepen Writing techniques through the use of different methods of interaction such as Facebook and WhatsApp; and to present and analyze the educational product developed by the researcher. For this, the research is based on the assumptions of some authors like Araújo and Leffa (2016); Phillips, Baird and Fogg (2012); and Marcuschi and Xavier (2004; 2010 e 2011), which discuss issues such as reading and textual production in digital age and language teaching based on new technologies. As methodological procedures were used the descriptive research, literature, analytical, experimental, field and action research. To obtain the data, were analyzed the results of the productions of the genres meme and photopoema based on some criteria, being: in terms of engagement of the students, use of the English Language, positive points raised by the students and appropriation of the characteristics of the proposed genres. It is believed that the proposed activities met the scopes and presented positive points, since there was the creation of the Facebook page, it was possible to work on Writing's skills, the students produced, in a satisfactory and creative way, the genres meme and photopoem, and their textual productions were published on the social network Facebook. It is expected to offer a contribution to the educational field, specifically to the English Language teaching area.As novas tecnologias estão sendo disponibilizadas no contexto escolar com grande variedade de recursos e meios de interação, os quais envolvem tanto os alunos quanto os professores. No entanto, essas novidades tecnológicas estão fazendo com que algumas escolas criem certa resistência aos meios digitais, por se tratar de um ambiente tradicionalmente conservador. Sendo assim, esta pesquisa tem por objetivos despertar o interesse dos alunos para o ensino de língua estrangeira por meio da utilização das TIC; criar uma página do Facebook, para a prática da habilidade de Writing, no tocante a produção dos gêneros digitais meme e fotopoema; aprofundar as técnicas de Writing dos alunos por meio do uso de diferentes métodos de interação como o Facebook e o WhatsApp; e apresentar e analisar a aplicação do Produto Educacional elaborado pela pesquisadora. Para isso, a pesquisa se baseia nos pressupostos de alguns estudiosos como Araújo e Leffa (2016); Phillips, Baird e Fogg (2012); e Marcuschi e Xavier (2004; 2010 e 2011), os quais discutem assuntos como a leitura e a produção textual na era digital e o ensino de línguas com uso das novas tecnologias. Como procedimentos metodológicos foram utilizadas as pesquisas descritiva, bibliográfica, analítica, experimental, de campo e pesquisa-ação. Para obterem-se os dados, analisaram-se os resultados das produções dos gêneros meme e fotopoema com base em alguns critérios, sendo eles: em termos de engajamento dos alunos, de uso da Língua Inglesa, de pontos positivos levantados pelos alunos e de apropriação das características dos gêneros propostos. Acredita-se que as atividades propostas atenderam aos escopos e apresentaram pontos positivos, visto que houve a criação da página do Facebook, foi possível trabalhar a habilidade de Writing, os alunos produziram, de modo satisfatório e criativo, os gêneros meme e fotopoema, e suas produções textuais foram publicadas na rede social Facebook. Espera-se oferecer uma contribuição ao campo educacional, mais especificamente à área de ensino de Língua Inglesa
