<p>The purpose of this experiment was to observe the abundance and RTUs (recognizable taxonomic units) of insects found in different colour pan traps placed in the Danby Woodlot and Danby Grassland at York University on October 1, 2015. The weather was 15°C mostly sunny, but slightly cool. This experiment was conducted by Amandeep, Vivian, Alexander, and I (Stephanie).</p> <p>The data was collected by placing a transect in both the grassland and woodlot 9m long and placing the different colour pans yellow, white, and blue 1m between each pan along the transect. Each pan was filled with 15mL of soapy water and left to sit for 60 minutes. After the 60 minutes the abundance and RTUs was counted in each pan and recorded. After each pan was reco...
