This paper presents one thermal error compensation system for linear feeding system of machine tool. On the basis of testing the temperature of key components and the thermal error of linear feeding system of machine tool, the leading screw temperature coefficient is forecasted through a linear regression model by ordinary least squares. The independent variable of the regression model is the mean change of two key components temperature, and the dependent variable is the actual temperature coefficient. Then, combined with the theory of thermal expansion of metal, the thermal error compensation model for linear feeding system is set up.
