Devising switching schemes for networks of colliding and correlated RFID readers is a core challenge in the reliable operation of RFID augmented ubiquitous environment. In this paper, a novel optimal scheduling scheme for RFID networks using a symbiotic multi-species particle swarm oplimizer (SMSO) is presented The SMSO, which inspired by the biological phenomenon of symbiosis in nature, can remarkably enhance the convergence and accuracy of the standard particle swarm optimizer (SPSO) when applied to perform the nonlinear optimization problems.
