Mass Transfer-Reaction Kinetics Study on Absorption of NO with Dual Oxidants (H₂O₂/S₂O₈^2–)

The mass transfer-reaction kinetics of NO absorption by dual oxidants (H₂O₂/S₂O₈^2–) was studied in a bubble column reactor. The comparison experiments in different systems showed that the combination of Na₂S₂O₈ and H₂O₂ had significant synergistic effects on the rate of NO absorption. The effects of Na₂S₂O₈ concentration, H₂O₂ concentration, NO concentration, pH, O₂ concentration, and gas flow rate on the rate of NO absorption were investigated. The rate of NO absorption increased with the increase in Na₂S₂O₈ concentration, H₂O₂ concentration, and gas flow rate. The rate of NO absorption increased slightly with the increase in O₂ concentration, whereas it increased linearly with the increase in NO concentration. At pH 11, the rate of NO absorption reached 1.31 × 10^–6 mol/m²·s. The NO absorption by dual oxidants (H₂O₂/S₂O₈^2–) was pseudo-first-order with respect to the NO concentration. Moreover, a simple rate equation of NO absorption by H₂O₂/S₂O₈^2– was obtained. The results of the rate equation indicate that the calculated values are consistent with the experimental values
