Mixed-anion oxyfluorides (<i>i.e.</i>, FeO<sub><i>x</i></sub>F<sub>2–<i>x</i></sub>) are an appealing alternative to pure fluorides as high-capacity cathodes in lithium batteries, with enhanced cyclability <i>via</i> oxygen substitution.
