Aspirin treatment abolishes platelet aggregation in response to PE STBEV.

<p>Platelet rich plasma was incubated with 100 μM acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) or DMSO control for 30 minutes at 37°C. Platelets were then isolated and stimulated with thrombin, or PE STBEV (final concentration of 50μg/mL) at 37°C with continuous stirring (1200 rpm) in an optical aggregometer.
