<p>Librarians were enlisted to provide recommendations for implementing the transition of a journal publication to an open access online platform. Faculty editors of the journal consulted with the librarians to define formatting and data requirements that would facilitate journal content transition, as well as maximize journal visibility and discoverability among a global community of researchers. The faculty editors relied heavily on librarian recommendations for optimizing website content layout, search functionality, standardized article identification, and indexing.
