Self-assembled cyclic peptide nanotubes (CPNs) show a potential use in drug delivery. In this study, the CPN composed of (Trp-d-Leu)<sub>4</sub>-Gln-d-Leu was synthesized and tested for the transport of the antitumor drug 5-fluorouracil (5-FU). CPN-mediated release of 5-FU from liposomes experimentally tested the transportation function of the synthetic CPNs.
