Protein ubiquitylation, one of the most prevalent post-translational modifications in eukaryotes, is involved in regulating nearly every cellular signaling pathway. The vast functional range of ubiquitylation has largely been attributed to the formation of a diverse array of polymeric ubiquitin (polyUb) chains.
