<p>Liver specimens were obtained from male wild type (<b>A</b> and <b>C</b>) or <i>Tet-mev-1</i> mice (<b>B</b> and <b>D</b>) that had been supplied with doxycycline-containing water throughout the prenatal and postnatal periods and, at around the age of 1 year, were subsequently fed a control, normal diet (<b>A</b> and <b>B</b>) or high-fat/high-sucrose diet (<b>C</b> and <b>D</b>) for 4 months. Serial sections were subjected to hematoxylin and eosin staining (<i>upper</i>) or Sirius red-Fast green FCF staining (<i>lower</i>).
