<p>Nephron segments were dissected from mouse kidney and relative mRNA abundance of the (P)RR and the B1 (Atp6v1b1) subunit of the vacuolar H<sup>+</sup>-ATPase assessed. Segment-specific enrichment of nephron fragments was tested by qPCR for various transcripts: Podoplanin for the glomerulum, NaPi-.IIa for the S1 /S2, S3 segments of the proximal tubule and DCT, NKCC2 for the TAL, NCC for the DCT, AQP2 for the collecting duct system, and pendrin for the CNT/CCD.
