Such controlled guest sequestration inside the cavity of CB[8] enables the regulation of the thermally induced phase transition of poly(<i>N</i>-isopropylacrylamide)which is not photosensitivethus demonstrating the robustness and relevancy of the light-regulated CB[8] complexation
