The purpose of the study was to investigate the factors influencing poor performance in K.C.P.E in public day Primary schools in Akiithi zone Tigania-west District Meru County. The researcher sampled 5 public day Primary schools out of 28 in the zone. The head teachers of all the primary schools were interviewed while 10 assistant teachers were sampled and data collected from them by use of questionnaires.45 pupils were interviewed while filling in interview guides and recording important information. Checklists were filled upon assessment of the availability of teaching and learning resources Data collected analyzed and presented in simple tables and figures.
