Two novel metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) |(H<sub>3</sub>O)<sub>1.5</sub>(H<sub>2</sub>O)<sub>3</sub>|[Cd<sub>2</sub>K<sub>0.5</sub>(C<sub>4</sub>N<sub>3</sub>O<sub>4</sub>)<sub>2</sub>(H<sub>2</sub>O)] (<b>1</b>) and |(H<sub>3</sub>O)(H<sub>2</sub>O)|[Cu<sub>4</sub>(C<sub>4</sub>N<sub>3</sub>O<sub>4</sub>)<sub>3</sub>(H<sub>2</sub>O)<sub>3</sub>] (<b>2</b>) were solvothermally synthesized using 1,2,3-triazole-4,5-dicarboxylic acid (H<sub>3</sub>tzdc), which exhibited novel and diverse coordination modes.
