Challenge test of generic <i>E</i>. <i>coli</i> probe assay.

<p><i>E</i>. <i>coli</i> O157 culture was diluted over 6 orders of magnitude, mixed with equal volume of <i>Salmonella enterica</i> overnight culture, and assessed by generic <i>E</i>. <i>coli</i> probe assay, TPC assay and agar plate counting. The sensitivity of the R-squared value between genetic probe assay and TPC assay (■) is 1, and the R-squared value between genetic probe assay and agar plate counting (▲) is 0.9999. Each data point is an average of 3 repeats.
