Fluorescent sensors suitable for dynamic measurement of intracellular pH (pH<sub>i</sub>) fluctuations should feature the following properties: feeble cytotoxicity, wide-pH range response, and strong fluorescence coupled with good photostability, which are still remaining scanty to date.
