<p>12 μm PFA fixed sections were taken of mouse retinas of indicated genotypes at 12 months. Sections were stained for C3b/iC3b/C3c (red) and nuclei (blue). Z-stacks were imaged using confocal microscopy and merged to form a maximum intensity projection (MIP). MIPs were merged with digital interference contrast and arrows highlight the presence of C3 breakdown products in RPE/Bruch’s. Scale bars = 50 μm. Images are representative of n = 6.</p
