Meningococcal survival in serum.

<p>(A) Bacteria were incubated with MgCl₂ + CaCl₂-treated mouse serum (25% (v/v)) for 60 min at 37°C. (B) Bacteria were incubated with MgCl₂ + CaCl₂-treated human pooled serum (25% (v/v)) for 20, 40 and 60 min at 37°C. CFUs were determined as described in materials and methods and data represented are relative to the CFUs determined for the inoculum of each strain. Presented are the mean values and standard deviations of at least three independent experiments.
