Two files include data for North American and European dragonfly assemblages, separately. This data was used for most analysis and figures. An additional file includes the pooled data, which we used to compare the slopes of correlations of colour lightness against selected climate variables between the two continents. Variables are: mean colour lightness (meanRGB), the phylogenetic component of colour lightness (mean_A), the specific component of colour lightness (mean_E), 19 aggreagted BIOCLIM varaibles (bio1_mean to bio19_mean), mean altitude (alt_mean) and geographical coordinates (lng and lat)
