Target gene CREs direct <i>ftz</i>-dependent striped expression patterns.

<p>Expression of enhancer-<i>lacZ</i> reporter constructs, as indicated, in transgenic embryos is shown. (A-G) Early transgene expression. (A’-G’) Late transgene expression. Note that β-galactosidase is stable and accumulates in embryos such that expression appears stronger at late germband extension.
