Oxidant/antioxidant status in chagasic mice (± SRT1720).

<p>Mice were <i>Tc-</i>infected, SRT1720-treated, and heart tissue harvested, as in <a href="http://www.plospathogens.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.ppat.1005954#ppat.1005954.g004" target="_blank">Fig 4</a>. Cardiac homogenates were used to measure <b>(A)</b> ROS (H₂O₂) and <b>(B)</b> advanced oxidation protein products (AOPP) levels. <b>(C)</b> Shown in panel a are representative immunoblots for inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), 4-hydroxynonenal (4HNE), 3-nitrotyrosine (3NT), Nrf2, and GAPDH in cardiac homogenates of normal and <i>Tc</i>-infected (± SRT1720-treated) mice.
