Normalmente, el estudio de los bosques se realiza sobre la base de información descrita en tablas y gráficos de distintos tipos, sin embargo, la posibilidad de apreciar y analizar visualmente los rodales a través de herramientas computacionales puede ayudar en la toma de decisiones. El objetivo del presente trabajo es presentar un ejemplo de aplicación de un modelo de crecimiento forestal para bosques irregulares y mixtos del estado de Durango, México.
